It's official, I am 27! The past couple of days have been both fun and uplifting. Yesterday Nate and I hung out at Sea World, taking advantage of free admission for military members. Since Charly and Piper were hanging with my mom we got to do what we wanted to do and of course first I wanted to check out the Shamu show, which is my all time favorite.
We sat in the center front row (we got lucky somehow) and it was amazing! Everytime I see the whales I get emotional for some strange reason. I think back about my days of swimming and how much I loved it and Im pretty sure in Heaven I was an Orka whale trainer....it could happen! I just think Earth is so incredible and beautiful and when you see such large creatures up close it really puts the world in perspective, at least for me.
Also in the beginning of the 'Believe' show they have this really great tribute to military members and that gets me every time too. I forget that to most people the military isn't something they are around on a regular basis.
Nate and I decided that we would go ride some rides after the shows and picked the Steel Eel first. IT WAS AMAZING! Nate and I waited in line for the front row and it was so worth it. I screamed literally the whole time and my voice is getting more rough as the weekend goes on. While I was busy screaming Nate and the guys behind us were laughing at me, at least that is what Nate says.
We finished up at Sea World by riding in the back of a coaster that does flips and turns and left the ride nauseous and ready to eat some dinner. Thai Corner here we come! I love, love, love Thai food, especially hot and spicy Thai food. P.S. Nothing compares to Saeng's Orient in Clovis NM and one of these days we are going to make the nine hour drive just to have some, right Nate?....Nate?
Anways after our bellies were full of yummy food we headed to the SA temple for an evening session. The last time we went to the Temple was when I was pregnant with Piper, way too long! Now that Piper can be left for a longer time we will make more of an effort to attend the Temple in Dallas when my mom is visiting. While Sea World was really fun, going to the Temple was the best part of the day.
12 hours was a bit too long to be gone from Piper, the whole time I was in the Temple I was trying to hide that fact that I was leaking milk like a faucet (hopefully no one noticed)! I was really glad to see Piper and Charly, cake, ice cream and balloons waiting for me. Mmmm mmm!
While we were enjoying our date we kept mentioning how much the girls would like to see the shows which is why we decided to come back today with the girls and Rochelle. First stop Shamu roller coaster!
Next stop, Shamu 'Believe' where of course we sat in the front splash zone again expecting to get soaked. We didn't even get a drop, I think Shamu recognized us from yesterday. Charly was cool with that, she kept hiding under the chair every time we thought we were getting wet. She asks when she can swim with dolphins so I explain to her when she grows up she can be a trainer and when it's "bring your mom to work day" I can tag along and ride the dolphins with her. Yep we have it all worked out.
Piper of course was thrilled and in Awe every time she saw the whales. Nate said her body would get straight up and her heart with pound with excitement!
Our attempts to get Rochelle on a "scary" ride failed, but I think she still had fun hanging out with the family.
Of course we couldn't go the day without heading to the very crowded water park and catching waves in the wave pool. Nate and I took turns with Charly when the waves came on, she kept wanting to go deeper and she didn't want help. She had a life vest on and was swimming. She has the right moves and it's only a matter of time before she takes off completely on her own (w/out life vest).
Every chance Piper got she was trying to throw herself in the water, that girl is very trusting of her daddy. I suppose that is not a bad thing to be, what a lucky girl.
Typical picture of the girls, Charly squeezing Piper and clinching her teeth while Piper looks on with slight confusion. We have the best kids!
Our trip to SA would not be complete without going to Bandera TX and having amazing Chinese food at The China Bowl followed by adding ice cream to our already overly full tummies!
My dad looks great, having not seen him in a couple of months I can really notice the difference in him. I just can't believe how great he looks! I just kept looking at him and thinking how proud I am of him for really committing to a healthier lifestyle. We are very proud of you dad and are so glad you decided to stick with it!! Way to go dad!!
While trying to get a picture of my slimmer/ healthier dad I managed to catch a goofy and a handsome picture of Nate and him. This could very well be the first picture of just the two of them. In the picture below this one Charly was explaining the meaning of life while Nate holds Piper's ice cream for ransom, can't you tell?
Piper was pooped and I got this shot while at a stop light. Charly was watching to tell me when the light turned green, Nate was too. If you look close enough she is still holding her plastic whale.
Charly really was a trooper today, we walked A LOT! We all wanted to take naps in the car, but of course Nate had to keep me awake while I drove! Charly is holding her whale too!
