ABC Quiet Book

The past few months at church have been a little crazy for Nate and I. I officially have been on church overdrive the past few days trying to figure out some new goodies to put in my church bag, you know, to keep the girls quietly occupied. There were a few ABC quiet books online but I just couldn't find one that I liked, so I made my own. These are 4x6 and I just had them printed at Wal-Mart. I think if you really wanted to, you could save them and print one of your own as well...substituting my personal photos for yours. 

Keeping my fingers crossed that this, along with a few other things will keep Piper's and Winnie's attention long enough to at least sit through the Sacrament. 

PS If you see any mistakes, kindly point them out to me....don't seek them out though. LOL

 

 

Piper is eagerly learning to ride her bike! I forgot how magical it was to witness this process! She is so close! Oh dear, please help us when she does get it! She will be the one popping wheelies down the road riding without hands! LOL

Poor Winnie won't know what to do when neither of the older girls need her help pushing.

Winnie has discovered there is more to crayons that just eating them. Her little eyes twinkle when she colors, and she loves chalk too! This big girl can climb onto the little table all by herself and color a picture, all without breaking a sweat! She is awesome.

*UPDATE- Only 30 short minutes after I posted this blog, Charly ran in and said "Piper is riding her bike, come look, come look!" And sure enough, she was! It took just a little help from her big sister to get her going! Way to go Piper! And Charly, for helping!!!

Moving On?

I've been trying to find time to take pictures of the interior of our home. I finally got to it today and, instead of feeling relieved to have gotten one more thing done, I am actually kind of wondering if I even want to move. Now, don't start frowning your faces, I know Nate needs/wants to be in his stomping grounds out west to have the ultimate Biologist job he seeks. I want that for him too! Just can't help but wonder, what happens if we stay here? Perhaps just for a while longer. We have put our blood, sweat, and tears into this house. Literally.

It's hard to move. Who knows, maybe no one will want to buy our house. But seriously, a cute house like ours???! Someone is definitely going to want it. Right?

Did I mention I'm going back to school? So, yeah, there is that also. Trying to figure out my path has a lot to do with what happens in the next couple of months with the house. I'm anxious about an online degree from BYU that is being offered through our local stake but whether or not I can do that depends on our plans for the next year. Oh man, I'm so kicking my 20 year old self in the butt for not pursuing college more seriously when it would have been way easier. I am glad for one thing though, being here has certainly strengthened our faith and testimonies. With that, all of these next moves in our lives won't be as hard. If, of course, there is a move at all. *smile*

I'm dying to know if this be the last spring we get to frolic in the rattlesnake infested  bluebonnets.

I Could Eat You!!

All right, so you know how we are always saying Piper loves Winnie so much? Well, here is the proof. Pay no attention to anything else but Piper in every single shot! Seriously, she can not get enough of her. While her intentions with Winnie are totally pure in heart, she tends to squeeze her tightly at times. 

Yesterday she had Winnie's hand and proceeded to grab, in the meantime, I guess Winnie had enough so she leaned forward and bit Piper's face! Yep, Winnie left bite marks, both on her nose and chin. Made Piper cry quite a bit actually. Hmm, wonder if I should be concerned more about Piper's need to squeeze Winnie or Winnie's need to bite in self defense. LOL I'm sure Winnie wasn't trying to hurt her, poor baby is like a little puppy dog these days. You can't even hang your feet off the couch without her coming by to chomp, and boy does it hurt!

But regardless, I'm glad Nate captured Piper in her true, Winnie loving, baby squeezing, teeth grinding down self.

I had seen something like the above photos on Pinterest and was finally able to have Nate do this for me. The idea is to take a photo like this every year to see the changes. I think it's a lovely way to track time, and the fact that all three girls smiled just tickles me!
