Classic summer day

If ever you are in need of some good ole' summer fun just grab a bucket, a hose and some super cool  kids (preferably your own)!

As soon as we got back from Charly's pool party and met up with Nate at the house we tag teamed the front yard. He weeded and I mowed, the weed eater has said many times that he does not like me!  Anyhow it was breezy and actually decent outside, so much so we forgot where we were for a moment.

Nate filled the bucket with water and since Charly was already in her suit she figured she would go for a dip, literally. Piper even got in a few times.

As we were watching the girls I just kept thinking how this was a perfect summer afternoon and it made me super happy. It has been a while since I have enjoyed playing outside because it's been so hot. Not today I say!

Piper is getting some sweet revenge on Charly, although I'm pretty sure it's not revenge if the person enjoys it, LOL. Oh what fun a couple of kids can have with a bucket. The irony is that there is a picture on the side of it that specifically says NOT to let kids play in it, they must have meant OTHER kids *wink*.

After dinner I led the girls out front to get some pics, I really just wanted to get a shot of Piper's face with beans and okra all over it...oh and did you notice the way Nate put her apron on? Hilarious!

The girls decided that throwing pebbles in the street was a fun thing to do.

Lets back track a bit to the pool party. Since there weren't any lessons going on Piper and I could get in the pool also, which of course was refreshing. Piper could not wait to get in the pool, literally! She was jumping from the side to me and on about the 4th jump she didn't wait for me to be ready, she just tossed the float in and jumped...I had to extend under the water to get the little stinker! She of course was not phased and thought it was fun but my goodness was I a little taken back. She even swam under water to Ms Tana (the swim teacher), who just thought it was so cool.  Yep that's our Piper, the "cool" one.

After 20 minutes in the water I decided I was done and took Piper to play on the swing set where she was much less likely to dive into water.

Then my little speed racer sped down the sidewalk, is it just me or is she getting a bit too big for that bike?

One more side note, Nate may actually be getting high speed internet at his job which means instead of waiting all day to get one form done online, he can do it in a few minutes....and have the rest of the day to do quality Forest Service work, like for example send me love notes on facebook. A girl can dream!
