Piper and the pepper

It's 9am, both the girls are asleep (thank you 9pm bedtime!) so I'm going to take advantage of some blogging time.  Yesterday when Nate got home, he dug another fence post and I pulled some more weeds. After dinner time we went back outside and while the girls enjoyed the swings I dug more weeds...yes there is a theme going on here! Nate built me a box for my compost and while I was cleaning up the compost area (raking and such) I found not one, not two or even three, but 10 plants budding up. There are a couple of watermelon, like 6 potatoes and a couple of others that I'm not sure yet what they are...maybe cantaloupe. I was sooooo excited to find those, so of course I had to pull the weeds around those too, but OH will it be worth it when my garden flourishes!

Piper came down to visit me a couple of times and decided that she would pick the peppers that are about the size of a small lime, that little stinker picked two! They are so fragrant though and the smell of them just makes me happy.  I still have a lot of weed picking to do but after 5 seems to be a great time to do it because that is when our friend shade starts coming into our garden.

Onto something completely different, a few weeks ago we cancelled our ADT due to a few things but most importantly the fact that we cannot here the alarm in our bedroom. A tech came out three different times to "try" and fix it and on the third time I was so flustered with waiting around and them not fixing it that Nate and I decided that it just wasn't worth it. So we get the ball going to see what we have to do to cancel. Well yesterday I called ADT to find out what the status was because I haven't gotten a confirmation letter or anything like that. The lady on the phone said that the only thing she sees was a 1000 dollar cancellation fee! I immediately asked her to put someone on the phone now who could fix this, mind you we were supposed to get a total refund of about 800 dollars back because it has been under 6 months.  Phone calls back and forth from our sales rep and waiting for his manager to call back (he never did) and now here I am again waiting for THEM to call me back! Oh this is quite frustrating. To make matters worse the lady on the phone said that she only has it documented that the tech came out once, when in fact he came out three times! I know this because he freaked me out and so my dad, and Nate were here the second and third time. I feel like no one is calling me back and this is ridiculous that I have to chase them around. Now our sales rep is asking what they can do to fix this, something he should have done a long time ago! Grrrrr

On a lighter note my wheat berries have finally sprouted enough so I have them on a cookie sheet to dry, only this time they will be out of the area where a neighborhood puppy can knock them down.  I really don't want to put them in the oven on a hot day but I may just so I can keep an eye on them.  But I'm wondering now why my hands smell like feet after spreading them around, eh. I hear Piper upstairs talking so sweet. I guess she is awake =)
