All right, here it goes, are you ready for this one?
Charly has had a really bad temper the past couple of days.
She has had moments where she is very rude to me.
I grounded her.
Yup, she is grounded today.
Up until this point I have thought she was too young to be grounded (I think I still do). It just slipped out of my mouth and before I knew it I was explaining to her what it meant. Yikes!
So instead of her having fun doing what she wanted to do, she had fun doing what WE wanted to do. We went for a walk around Honey Grove, had lunch at a local sandwich place and I clicked away (on the camera). I love discovering all the cool things this little town has to offer (like the awesome door, above).
Before we went walking, Nate raised Charly's bike seat all the way to the top and blew up her tires. He also showed her how to project objects off the wheels while they are spinning. She has just about outgrown her bike. Hard to believe.
This past week Charly has really opened up to strangers and has been asking me to meet all of our neighbors. In an effort to do that, we walked around a few blocks by our house last night and Charly waved and greeted the few people we actually saw outside. It's interesting to watch this come out of her, because as you all know she has been pretty hesitant to talk to people she doesn't know. It's not something we have pushed on her either. When we went walking the other day she was so talkative to someone we just met, and my jaw almost fell to the ground. Truly she is a little butterfly spreading her wings more and more each day.
Here is Piper's new favorite thing to ride in, a handed down car that has a handle we can push her with. She cruised in this little buggy for a couple of hours today. Charly on the other hand rode her bike, and complained about it being too hot ALL the way home. *sigh*

That first shot is too cute. My only critique would be that I wish that ther was more of Piper on the right. Just an idea, but if you cropped the photo just to the right of the door it would be a great solo shot of Charly. Not that I want to crop Piper, I'm just speaking in terms of artistic composition. ;)
oooh I didnt even think about making it a solo pic, great idea! Although Piper's expression is too cute, Ill have to try it out.
