My friend Jenny gave me this really cool window with six panels in it and I decided I wanted to use it for a family collage, hence the separate pictures of us.
I haven't forgotten about Charly's kindergarten picture either, tomorrow we have a busy day with dentists and eye exams for Charly and I, so I figured we would take the pictures to get developed while we are out in the "big city". To think we used to live within two blocks of a Ritz back in Ogden *sigh*.
Nate and the girls had a party day today. Nate was off for Labor Day and spent the whole day being Mr. mom While I finished painting the bathroom (took from 7:30 to about 3, I'll get pictures up tomorrow) Nate took the girls to Bonham, came home for lunch, went to a park in HG and got all of our bikes ready to ride. Oh and I should mention that he changed Piper's diaper six times during this period also!! I'm pretty sure I don't even do it that often, kudos to you Nate!
He also burned a pile of fire ants after a huge glob of them swarmed up Piper's leg. You read that right, he BURNED them.
With GASOLINE!!! LOL
That will teach them to bite his little honey girls!
Charly sure is getting fast on her bike! Tonight we went on a cruise through Honey Grove and she was so cute pedaling her bike as fast as she could. She is also trying so hard to "pop-a-wheely". It was awesome for her to ride alongside with us while Piper relaxed in the trailer Nate was pulling behind his bike.
PS. Piper has learned to shove and does it often to Charly. It was only a matter of time when Piper would start holding her own against her sister, I just didn't expect it to be at the ripe age of two. Charly is going to have to toughen up and figure out a way to handle it better....other than her current approach which involves lots and lots of whining and tattling. Oh Piper whatever will we do?
Actually it is kind of funny when you think of a 2 year old bullying a 5 year old, hmmm. We won't let Charly know that we think it's funny.
In an effort for myself to squeeze in time for just me, I have had the feeling lately that I need to start getting up early. This past week I have had success with doing just that. I get up and get to read my scriptures by myself and have time to just think in quiet. I really enjoy this. It seems to put a different perspective on the day when I see it begin with the sun rising.
Poor Shelby needs a yard so bad! Every time we leave to go for a walk she just cries at the window. It's not her fault that all these dogs around here are free range. I suggest to Nate we should take her and just bring a really big stick to fight off any dogs that come around. It's so sad to hear her howl for us to come back and get her! We would never let a human "cry it out" and yet our poor little Shelby is doing it all the time. (It makes me sad and I don't even like having a dog all that much, I mean for crying out loud she is a living being!)
Did you notice she is wearing pearls for her portrait? She really is a great dog. Hyper and annoying, yes, but great none the less!

I love any kind of old windows used as projects and I think your family portrait idea is awesome! The photos all look awesome, even the dog. Haha. Question, though...what are you going to put in the 6th pane?
You need to take a picture when you are done...it's going to look so pretty! :)
