Just as I was starting to think traditional trick or treating had been replaced with trunk or treating I was pleasantly surprised to see that Honey Grove is still kicking it old school.
After the girls went around town square, checked out their goodies in the street and ate a free hotdog we went home and set up our porch for even more trick or treating. I couldn't believe how many kids were out, it was a scene straight out of 1995 when it was still "safe" to go door to door. There was even a couple of hay rides taking the children around the neighborhoods.
While I was handing out candy Piper was seeing how many tootsie rolls she could eat without throwing up. I'm pretty sure she must have eaten at least 20! She was very helpful with handing out the candy also and she was saying "trick or treat" and "thank you" to everyone that came to our house.
Charly kept going back and forth to the neighbors and then to our house to get as much candy as she could. Today has been a free for all with the candy, basically Charly has lived off of it . I'm sure I will regret letting her do that tomorrow when her head is spinning out of control and she has flames coming out of her back, LOL.
Overall it was a pretty great Halloween, the only thing that could have made it better would be if Nate was here to enjoy it with us.
