Business as usual?

The past two weeks have been crazy!  While I was down at my mom's house I had four scheduled photo sessions. I practically spent available minute either editing photos, getting camera equipment ready, or running around picking up developed photos.

I had a camera crisis as well. My Rebel was having focus issues, both on manual and auto. I plan on sending it back to the manufacturer with the receipt to get fixed under warranty. In the mean time my mom and Kristy bought me a new "more Professional" grade camera which I am unbelievably grateful for.  It was quite a shock! There I was sitting at the computer editing pictures when Piper keeps bringing me what I thought was computer accessories so I kept sending her back into my moms room. Finally she brings me a memory card and I get up a little flustered to take it back when on my moms bed was the camera, a bag, memory card AND a four year extended warranty package!  I literally was speechless, I still can't believe they did that for me. I didn't even want to open it until the girls were far from me...it was like Christmas morning rewind 20 years when I got the magic copier I had been wanting for so long, only better, LOL! My mom also bought me my first SLR camera back in HS so this is sentimental as well.

I learned so much from this trip to SA and I'm truly inspired to dive into this as a business  for our famil. I bought my web domain (www.ReneeCampbellPhotography.com) so Nate and I are going to figure that out when we have some free time. This will probably be the main source of business. Web page building is something I have never done, but there is no time like the present to learn something new.

I visited with an old neighbor from my childhood who is an amazing photographer, he and his wife had some great advice for me. After visiting with them I was even more inspired to get this stared. One thing they suggested was that I have a session fee that equals what I'm worth. I'm going back and forth within the 200-300 dollar range for portraits. I AM worth that.  I can't wait to draw up a business plan when Nate gets home. I'll post the price plan on my photo blog when we get it figured out.

Here's to branding myself!

Oh, I am so excited for you! And hey, if I can build a website, anyone can. I'm about as inept as they come when it comes to all things modern. LOL!
