Sign of The Times

When I was eleven years old I received my first tape, it was Janet Jackson's album titled "Janet". I'm not even sure I had a walkman at that age, I probably played it on my parent's tape player in a common room of the house, so when I walked in on Charly dancing and singing in the mirror I had to chuckle to myself.  She was jamming out to music streaming from Pandora from my iPhone, it was the "Mamma Mia" channel.

Charly will never know what it's like to wait all day for a song to play on the radio just so you can record it onto tape. She simply knows how to look for music on a CD and has the entire world of music at her fingertips in the form of the internet.
One thing her seven year old has in common with my seven year old self is for sure, we both love singing and dancing in the mirror, even if that means a bit of off notes coming out of our mouths. Charly has the confidence to not care and I love that about her!

I was just telling my kids that I knew your Dad loved me when he waited up all night to record a song off of the radio for me and they were like "wha?"

Only a true "love of your life" will make you a mix tape! Cody made me several back in the 80"s!
