Well baby indeed

As much as I hate the idea of taking a healthy baby to the doctor's for a check up Nate and I did just that today with Winnie.  We wanted to make sure her heart sounded as it should and that her bony butt was normal, LOL, it is.  She is 22 inches long and our Doctor commented on how lovely her skin is. Not even a hint of jaundice, which we already knew, have never had that with any of the girls.

On a side note, after we got the OK on her heart and her overall check-up our family doctor started vomiting complete nonsense from his mouth about everything he thought we should know for the next year. (*sarcasm* Did you know when you introduce solids if a baby sticks their tongue out it actually means they ARE ready, or nursing past four in the morning is a bad idea?...Nate and I basically were in dreamland when we heard this and other crazy talk.)

Winnie got some cravings for some delicious boob juice at which point he directed his attention to Nate and started talking to him about how I should nurse her, the whole time not even looking at me. What? So weird.

At the end of our appt. he handed me a limp hand to shake and then gave Nate a real handshake. I hate it when men can't shake a hand.

So we are officially on the lookout for a hippy chic doctor who has a strong handshake. See, we aren't too picky. Let me know if you know of anyone. Yes, I'm serious.

But most importantly we have peace of mind that our little Winnie is nice and healthy just as we suspected and now she is on record in the medical system. Yay!

We use Dr. Martha Brown in Paris, and although she is neither young, nor hip, she can shake hands well and respects my feelings about vaccinations and home birth. If you find someone awesome- please share!

Nursing past four in the morning is a bad idea? I wonder what the reasoning on that one is... Limp handshakes are one of my pet peeves. Blech! Glad Winnie is as healthy as she is beautiful! Good luck on the doctor hunt. We use a chiropractor for most of our medical stuff and have a female family doc as backup.
