(Note to mom: remember when Piper was born and we took her to that crappy photo place in the mall where they wanted to prop her up with phone books? Our photo shoot today was SO much better than that AND we didn't even consider using phone books. Yeah, I knew you would be proud.)
I can not believe Winnie is already entering her sixth day of life! The past week has flown by and felt like a dream. Charly tells me just about every day she feels like she is dreaming and can't believe Winnie is here. I concur. What a blessing it is to get to smell her sweet face and hug and squeeze her!

Nate was home today and Winnie is settling into a cozy, sleep all day pattern and since I have been dying to get some pictures shot I recruited the help from the whole family. Nate placed the reflector and diffuser, Piper ran around 'trying' to help and Charly was the assistant photographer (she LOVES that job).
First we set Winnie up in the bean bag, you know typical newborn shots. She peed on the sheet of course and slept the whole time but managed to melt our hearts with the results. She looks identical to Piper when she was newborn which leads Nate and I to constantly call her Piper.
She woke up briefly..... and shot a look that was totally reminiscent of Charly's as an infant. This(the colored picture below) is TOTALLY a Charly look, OH so cute! We've coined this look 'The grumpy old man face'.
It wasn't until we stopped posing her that I got my favorite shots from today. Obviously I love candid shots and you don't get more candid that these three.
Had to add both color and BW because I just couldn't decide which one I wanted to treasure forever.
Charly and Piper are, as expected, completely in awe with our new little Love. Charly is incredibly gentle and holds her often while Piper is gentle in her own rough way. I can tell Winnie is in for a treat with two older sisters like hers and Nate and I are in for such blessings as witnesses of their sisterhood.
Me? I feel fantastic, which we attribute to the amazing birth experience...that and the fact that I'm completely intoxicated with all the blessings around me.

I am so excited for you all! I can see how much Charly and Piper love her already. I was showing these pictures to Greg last night and telling him how I thought Winnie looked like Piper. :)
Gorgeous group of girls you got there! Wonderful photos!!
Will you share the pattern for the little sleep sacks you made for Winnie? I would love to make some for my grandbabies!
