.....And by "those" I mean completely wonderful and full of joy! The girls started the day in delicious moods and it totally spread to everyone. I'm pretty sure waking up with crisp air on your face has an intoxicating effect on our family. For those of my two readers who live in Utah, you'd better hug the crud out of that fresh crisp air you get EVERY DAY. Oh I'm so jealous!! It is certainly a luxury for us "people who live in Texas". LOL
Charly and Piper were very excited to wear their new church shoes, so excited that Piper even agreed to wearing a bow in her hair...yes I bribed her and yes it worked. Hey if I can keep a bow in her hair for one Sunday you bet I'm going to be excited! So here they are proudly displaying their new shoes, which BTW I got for 6 bucks on clearance at JCP. Oh how I love the end of season sales.
Anyhow, so we go to church (after pictures outside of course) but to be honest, church has been less than fulfilling for me lately and I totally blame that on my lack of interest of being around lots of people and HORMONES. Yes, I admitted it. I, ReneƩ Campbell am pregnant and hormonal. Whew, that felt good to get off my chest. Now that I can admit that I will embrace my longing to just be with my family and in my own little world. I'm sure when the bean is born I will flap my wings again and be socially acceptable.
But for now, well, that seems to be a problem.
After we came home Nate made some bean chili while I drooled...err, napped on the couch and listened to the girls coloring together. The smell of peppers woke me up. Charly and I started whipping up some treats (while Nate took his turn for nap) for her little bake sale she is having tomorrow in the front yard. On the menu, peanut butter balls with chocolate stuck with a lolly pop stick...only 75 cents. She wanted to sell them for 10 bucks a pop. Wasn't too sure how that would work in this economy though. Charly is certainly working her little entrepreneur ways constantly trying to come up with ways to make money and for a good cause too. She told us the other day that instead of buying a cupcake maker she now wants to buy her plane ticket to Utah. At this rate she may just be flying there soon, LOL. How sweet is that?
Nate topped off my sweet sundae of a day by making up hilarious alternative stories to the girls books before bed. Instead of "The English Roses" it was some kooky version of a Madonna song, needless to say I was laughing my booty off and the girls were enjoying the story time tons. Nate is definitely better at making the girls laugh and we love him for that!
So for now as I retire to the couch and break out the knitting needles while I wait for the diapers to wash (yep, I'm getting em' all set and ready) I am anxious about what tomorrow will bring. The tub is almost done and looking fabulous! Nate will be finishing the outside and we all can't wait to take a bath in it! Hopefully this weekend it will be all hooked up and ready to go. Thursday the missionaries are coming for dinner to help bring the beautiful beast back in the house. Ahhh, we are almost done!
