Yesterday as the girls and I were walking back from the library, Charly leaned over and tied her shoe!
I literally screamed with joy in the middle of the sidewalk when I saw her do this almost effortlessly. What an exciting milestone to witness.
I remember exactly where I was when I first tied my shoes and how accomplished I felt.
Watching Charly I thought about how all these little things we do at her age right now, she will remember for the rest of her life. It's so exciting!
When we came home we enjoyed the sunny, 50 something day by eating a sliced cucumber.
Piper was chomping away on hers, which was entertaining to see. Not so long ago, when she didn't eat anything at all, I dreamed of days like these.
It really is exciting to see her get so anxious over food. (Check out those full peanut butter covered cheeks!)
I guess all that excitement yesterday was just too much to handle because Charly woke up in the middle of the night and had thrown up all over her bed. We spent the next few hours in bed next to and leaning over a big pot. Today was the same, only the couch was our hang out spot.
Poor Charly was just so upset to be sick. She took three baths today.
In the past we let her watch movies all day if she wasn't feeling great but I decided a while back that on sick days we would read instead and have quiet days. A calm environment without the TV blaring all day made for a much more relaxing time.
Plus I got to catch up on some reading myself, which is always nice.
Seeing her throw up after every meal reminded me of being pregnant and the first few months.
Am I ready for that again?
While hoping I won't get morning sickness the next pregnancy(if we should be blessed with one) I know it's a great sign things are moving along well and in the end it's all worth holding your newborn.
Ah the smell of a fresh baby!
