I must have known a great day was lurking around the corner when I made the plans yesterday for some Wal-Mart shopping on black Friday. It sure did help to have my good friend Dee tag along for the ride...and when I say ride that is just what I meant.
After stocking up on baking goods and lunch we decided to take the scenic route to Nate's work where we were just in time to see some gutted deer. Yay! (sarcasm is radiating as I type).
At the deer check station they (Nate and his co-worker) have to weigh and age the poor little deer who come their way, then Nate has the task of practically chopping off their heads to get to their brain stem so they can test for chronic waste disease (I just threw up a little in my mouth).
Dee is such a great friend, when Nate asked me to help hold the deer's legs up I of course refused and she came to my rescue. This was not her first rodeo. Charly kept saying "aww poor baby deer, mamma deer". No wonder I didn't eat meat for so long! I will be the first to admit that if I had to kill my meat I just would never eat it, EVER.
I think I see another vegetarian phase coming my way.
No matter what kind of days I have it is sure wonderful to have such great friends here to pull me out of my funk.
I can't wait to get the girl's Nativity set out and put the tree up on Monday for FHE, something Mamma Barbie said was absolutely necessary.
Tomorrow, Charly, Piper and I are going to try out our new cookie cutters and see what magical creations we come up with.
