This afternoon my mom, the girls and I went downtown SA to take part in the first annual Bexar county burger competition where my brother and a team of four others completely killed it with this baby....
Of course we weren't surprised when they took first place. Everything down to the pickles, onions, condiments, bread were all homemade and you could tell. Even as I describe this my mouth waters. My brother was so kind to give me the 1/2 gallon of brine to make my own pickles when they were threw, and yes I was super grateful.
I always forget how much I love SA and the culture surrounding us. I love the music, the people and the atmosphere that is created from the colorful mixture of both. It was a very refreshing break from the country theme we have been used to while up in Honey Grove.
While we waited for the judges to call the winner we enjoyed free raspas, face painting, pony rides and loads of people watching. Oh, I can't write this blog without mentioning the burger eating contest, which as you can imagine was indeed as gross as it sounds. LOL. I still can't believe the guy who won that received a trophy the same size Rudy got for the best burger. Rudy should have gotten a much bigger prize. Perhaps an offer from Chris Madrid to buy their recipe will prove to be a bigger prize than ever. What an exciting opportunity for my brother.
*Baby note* The past few days I have noticed a giant increase in the movement our little W is making. I get so excited thinking of the days when the girls will be able to feel from the outside of my belly.
