Germany isn't THAT cool

So this past weekend the girls and I headed for a very short trip down to SA while Nate went to Ft. Worth for guard duty. Rudy has been in the talks of moving to Germany with a gal he recently met (Lacey) but I was dragging my feet wondering if he would even go. I decided last week that we would surprise both him and my mom for their birthdays and his going away.

We showed up Friday night at my mom's door, girls and my kitchen aid in hand. She was super excited and totally surprised, I love doing that!

Since Rudy and my mom's birthday are only a day apart we always have a cake for them to share, only this year I got to make them one. Yup, that's fondant! The inside was delicious homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. You would never know it was so good because even with Rudy's friends there to share with we were still left with half a cake.
It was too sweet, blah blah blah!

Suck it up, I say...and eat the darn cake. LOL I'm a little confused as to why there are some people who don't like sweets, I mean seriously I'm starting to think something is wrong with me for liking them too much. In my own little version of heaven I will be forever eating sweets with no ill effects to my health....my mom will be there too, eating her bottomless jar of cream cheese frosting.

Before the cake and gift exchange, which I will get back to in a bit, we of course had to get some photos of us as  natural as we get. I still don't know why Rudy would want to leave this behind. Seriously, look how cool we are!

I'm sure one glimpse at the photo I gave him (a blown up picture of him when he was three ,relieving himself in a beautiful field of flowers)  will send him into shock and make him realize he is too darn far from his awesome sisters.
Yes, friends are super awesome and all (Danny and Lacey below) but really, I ask, would they EVER think to give you such a cool gift? That's a big fat negative.
Rudy will also be leaving behind  his uber cool nieces and mom (Piper not pictured, she was sick....and Winnie, well she can't vogue yet ya know)
Despite our greatest efforts to get him to stay, he is on a plane as I speak type probably embarking on an adventure of a lifetime...having fun and eating really great food to say the least. But Rudy, as a former occupant of Germany I can assure you nothing is cooler than this family you got. Really!

Soon enough you will get tired of that gorgeous scenery, unlimited speed zones, great schnitzel, kids at the bar, that whole foreign language thing etc.
Or maybe not.

In all seriousness(cause I was totally using sarcasm, in case you aren't cool enough to get it) I really hope Rudy has a blast and nurtures his relationships, gets married, has kids (in that order too) and all that good stuff.

I am approaching 30 and it would be pretty cool to see him settle down with a nice girl before Nate and I have our forth child. There you go Rudy, a deadline for you to get married. And you better meet it or you never know what kind of blown up naked baby pictures you will get on your next birthday.

Dang, I'm feeling feisty!

The End

What?! He's moving to Germany? Where? It would be nice to have an old friend nearby....well nearer than TX. :)
